Get to know me!
Choosing to begin therapy is a courageous step, and I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or your child, I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and accepted. My goal is to create that kind of environment—one where healing can happen through trust, connection, and genuine collaboration. My passion for working with children and families began while studying psychology and continued to grow through my work with neurodivergent children and their caregivers. Those experiences taught me that every child has unique strengths, every family has its own story, and meaningful change happens when people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Today, I bring that same warmth and curiosity into every session, helping clients navigate life's challenges with compassion and confidence.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC Associate), under the supervision of Melissa Griffing, LPC-S, RPT-S. I provide trauma-informed counseling for children, adolescents, and families while continuing to expand my clinical expertise through ongoing supervision and professional development.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University before completing my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas State University. Throughout my education and clinical training, I had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and families in community mental health settings, supporting clients through life's many challenges, transitions, and moments of growth.
Before becoming a counselor, I worked closely with neurodivergent children and their families, an experience that deepened my passion for helping children feel empowered, connected, and emotionally safe. It also reinforced my belief that healing happens not only through supporting children but also by partnering with the caregivers who know and love them best.
As a therapist, my work is grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-based care. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process where clients feel genuinely heard, accepted, and supported. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor treatment to each client's developmental needs, personality, and goals, creating a space where growth can happen at a pace that feels comfortable and sustainable.
I integrate child-centered play therapy, narrative therapy, emotion regulation skills, and parts work into my sessions. For children, therapy often includes play, creativity, and storytelling as natural ways to process emotions and experiences. For adolescents and families, I focus on building emotional awareness, strengthening relationships, and developing practical tools that foster resilience both inside and outside the therapy room.
One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping families better understand one another. I enjoy working alongside parents and caregivers, offering guidance and support that strengthens connection, builds confidence, and creates lasting change within the family system.
My hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling more connected to themselves, their relationships, and their own strengths. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, identity development, or a major life transition, I would be honored to walk alongside you and your family as you move toward healing. And if I'm not the best fit for your needs, I'll gladly help connect you with someone who is. You don't have to walk through this alone.
